Building a large single storey home on a sloping site is an ambitious challenge and one we loved taking on.

Extensive work was required to prepare the site for building and the complexity of the project necessitated a unique approach of working from the back to the front of the site. The result is an impressive 360m2 home nestled in curved retaining walls that seems to grow out of the contours of the hill.

This modern home features structural steel, a plaster finish and an abundance of glass to maximise sun and views. Wide timber overhangs define the home and tie in with the timber garage door. The garage sits adjacent to the house and is accessed via a sweeping driveway.

Inside, timber ceilings and flooring complement the interior’s sharp, clean lines, which are achieved through the use of negative and seamless detailing.
